Who has an opportunity to make money selling their goods or services to the Federal Government? The Federal Government buys goods and services from a wide variety of vendors. People, businesses, corporations, stores, retailers, wholesalers, and trade workers all actively support the Federal Procurement activity that keeps our government running.  The U.S government commits 23% on average of all its prime contracting dollars to small business. In 2006 the Federal Government reported a total of $340.21 Billion dollars eligible for small business. It further commits on average 6.75% to disadvantaged small business. 8(a) minority business start up programs amount to 3.66%. It commits 2.57% to Veteran Owned businesses, 3.41% to women owned business, 3% to historically underutilized business zones, and 1% to service disabled veteran business.
