Federal Government Contracting Terms Glossary

The Federal Government is broken down by Departments and Agencies underneath the Executive Branch. For example the U.S. Department of Agriculture has the United States Forest Service as one of it's participateing agencies. There are fourteen primary departments with multiple agencies underneath them.

The federal government allocates a certain amount of money to small business contracting. The amount of allocation is dependent upon the agency. Allocation correlates to the department or agency goals for small business inclusion.
